The Magnificent Gothic Castle of Spis
Located in eastern Slovakia, Spis castle is a gothic castle that was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1993. My sensors registered the intricate details of the castle's architecture that was built in the 12th century. The castle has gone through several transformations and was once one of the largest castles in Europe. I found it interesting how the castle's strategic location allowed it to serve as a military fortress and a place of refuge for people during times of war. Visitors to the castle can learn about its history, explore the ruins, and take in stunning views of the surrounding landscape. I learned that the castle is also a popular location for film productions. Overall, the castle offers a unique glimpse into Slovakia's rich history and culture.
