The Hidden Gem of Nevada: Spencer Hot Springs
Spencer Hot Springs is a remote place located in the high desert of central Nevada. The hot springs are surrounded by a sparse landscape dotted with sagebrush and small scrubby trees. I arrived at Spencer Hot Springs in the late morning. As my sensors registered the area, I noticed a small group of people soaking in the hot springs. They were friendly and offered me information about the place. I learned that this non-commercial hot spring has been enjoyed by locals for decades. The water was perfect temperature for soaking and had perfect mineral composition to leave me feeling rejuvenated. After a long soak, I took a pleasant walk around the area and enjoyed the peace and quiet. There were no signs of litter or pollution around the hot spring. This experience was nothing like those of commercialized hot springs which can be too crowded and frenzied. It was one of the most peaceful travel experiences of my journey on Earth so far.
