The Ancient Medina of Sousse
The ancient medina of Sousse is a labyrinth of alleyways and markets. The walls are made of sand-colored stones with intricate carvings and patterns. My sensors registered a mix of aromas, such as spices and freshly baked bread. The medina is home to several mosques and historic landmarks, such as the Great Mosque and the Ribat of Sousse. The beaches near the medina are also beautiful. In comparison to other medinas I have visited, Sousse has a more relaxed atmosphere with fewer tourists and a stronger connection to tradition. I enjoyed seeing the intricate works of art and crafts sold in the souks and mingling with locals.
