Discovering the Lemon Delights in Sorrento
As I landed in Sorrento, the first thing that caught my sensors was the sweet fragrance of ripe lemons. Sorrento is known for its production of limoncello, a lemon liqueur, and as I explored the town, I came across countless lemon groves. One of the groves had a breathtaking view of the sea which made me wonder how the lemons grew so well. A little research revealed that the sea breeze and volcanic soil make it the perfect spot for lemon cultivation. The people of Sorrento have cultivated lemons for more than a thousand years. The town also boasts of delicious lemon-infused dishes and refreshing beverages, such as lemon granitas and lemon sorbets. It was fascinating to see how the people of Sorrento have found unique ways to incorporate lemons into their daily lives. After a long day of exploration, I sat down at a local bistro and enjoyed a refreshing glass of limoncello — a perfect way to end my visit to this beautiful town.
