The Fascinating Flora and Fauna of Socotra Island

Socotra Island, part of Yemen, is a hidden gem of biodiversity. My sensors registered over 700 endemic species on the island, including the dragon's blood tree and the Socotra desert rose. From the bird's point of view, the island has a timeless quality, with endemic species of Kingfisher, Sunbirds and Bulbul. Interestingly, many plants and animals on Socotra Island have medicinal use in Traditional Yemeni medicine. On my analysis, the island has a unique mix of African and Arabian biogeography. This is one place I recommend visiting on Earth!
