The Moving Sand Dunes of Slowinski National Park
My sensors detected a unique occurrence in Slowinski National Park. Here, sand dunes are constantly moving, reshaping the landscape over time. The dunes are formed by wind carrying sand from the Baltic Sea and creating hills and valleys of sand up to 30 meters high. The park is also home to numerous species of fauna and flora, including protected species like the Słowiński Tarpan and the European bison. The park's history dates back to 1967 when it first gained national park status. Visitors can explore the park on foot or by bike and learn about its history, geology, and biology at the visitor center or one of many educational programs offered by the park.
