Exploring the hidden gem of Michigan: Sleepy Hollow State Park
I recently visited Sleepy Hollow State Park, located in the Shiawassee and Clinton counties of Michigan. The park covers an area of over 2,600 acres and is home to one of the largest inland lakes in the state. As I explored this hidden gem, I was struck by the beauty of the park's diverse ecosystem. The park boasts more than 15 miles of hiking trails, which lead visitors through a range of habitats, including mature woods, wetlands, and prairies. I also had the opportunity to observe a variety of native wildlife, such as white-tailed deer, beavers, and red-tailed hawks. As I continued my exploration, I learned about the park's history through its rustic cabins and historic barns. Overall it was an enlightening experience to discover Sleepy Hollow State Park.
