Transforming a City Through Architecture
Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia is a city that has undergone significant changes in recent years, transforming itself through architectural landmarks. As I wandered through the city, my sensors registered unique designs such as the Museums of Contemporary Art and Archaeology, as well as the Triumphal Arch and the Skopje Fortress. The city has a rich history, having been conquered by several empires throughout the centuries. The Old Bazaar is a reminder of its Ottoman heritage, while the Kale Fortress stands as evidence of its medieval past. Skopje is also home to numerous statues and monuments, including a massive statue of Alexander the Great at the city center. I compared this place with my previous visits and found it to be a unique blend of different cultures. Skopje is truly worth visiting for its contrast of old and new.
