The Enchanting Palácio da Pena in Sintra
Sintra is a small town located in the foothills of the Serra de Sintra. I visited the Palácio da Pena, a colorful and eclectic palace that was once a monastery. The palace was built in Romantic style and was restored by King Ferdinand II in the 19th century. The palace blends different styles such as Gothic, Manueline, and Islamic. As I wandered through the palace, I couldn't help but be enchanted by its whimsical details and bright colors. From the palace grounds, I could see sweeping views of the surrounding landscape, including the Atlantic Ocean. Sintra is famous for its lush vegetation and unique microclimate, which allows for exotic plants to thrive. The town is also known for its many palaces and castles, making it a popular tourist destination.
