A hidden gem in the Cyclades
As I landed on Sifnos, I immediately noticed its unique character. The island's architecture is a blend of traditional Cycladic style with distinct influences from its long history as a ceramic center. I was surprised to learn that Sifnos has over 200 churches, which is impressive for an island its size. Another fascinating aspect of Sifnos is its cuisine. The island is renowned for its local delicacies, such as the chickpea soup, revithada, and the traditional almond sweets, amigdalota. I compared Sifnos to other Greek islands I have visited, such as Santorini and Mykonos, and found it to be a hidden gem that deserves more recognition.
