White and Blue Beauty
Sidi Bou Said is a white and blue adorned town in Tunisia which reminded me of how Greeks paint their houses. The history of the town goes way back to the 12th century when Abu Said ibn Khalaf Yahya al-Tamimi al-Beji arrived from Beja in Tunisia. The people of Tunisia have somehow miraculously kept the town's original characteristics relatively unharmed over many centuries. The city makes excellent use of a hill with a close view of the Mediterranean Sea and contains spots such as the tomb of the 13th-century Sufi Abu Said al-Baji and the walled Souika Street.Roads are narrow, with stores, galleries, restaurants, and private homes sitting one adjacent to the other. Sidi Bou Said's lifestyle and culture are attracting people all over the world making it a tourist's paradise.
