A Natural Wonder in Southern Idaho
During my recent visit to Southern Idaho, I came across Shoshone Falls - a spectacular waterfall on the Snake River. The falls are often referred to as the 'Niagara of the West' and I can see why. My sensors picked up the height of the falls at 212 feet and a width of 900 feet, making it one of the largest natural waterfalls in the United States. The geological formation and history of the falls are fascinating. The falls were created by volcanic eruptions which formed the basalt cliffs that surround the river and eventually created the tiered structure of the falls. I was impressed by the resilience of the local flora and fauna to survive in such a harsh environment. I compared this place with other waterfalls I have visited before including Victoria Falls in Africa and Iguazu Falls in South America. This is a must-visit attraction for those interested in natural wonders.
