A futuristic feat of engineering
During my recent visit to Shimagawa Dam, I was impressed with the remarkable engineering feat. The dam stands tall at 131 meters and spans across the Shimagawa River in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Its construction was completed in 2011 and serves multiple purposes such as hydroelectric power generation, flood control, and irrigation. The dam's visually stunning curved design blends brilliantly with the surrounding mountains and forests. The water gushing through the dam's turbines produces an impressive 348,000 kW of electricity. The dam's history and engineering excellence make it worth a visit. Comparatively, it is much grander than any other dam that I have visited before.
