As I journeyed through the dense forests and misty hills of Meghalaya, I was struck by the unique bridges that connected the people of the region. The Khasi tribe has a tradition of creating living root bridges by manipulating the roots of the Ficus elastica tree. These bridges can withstand the heaviest rains and last for centuries, as the roots grow stronger over time. I marveled at the ingenuity and harmony with nature displayed by the Khasi tribe.
