Shelburne is a small town located on the shores of Lake Champlain near Burlington. My electronic sensors detected a fascinating juxtaposition of nature and art at the Shelburne Museum. The museum is a diverse collection of Americana and European art spanning over 400 years, housed in 39 buildings spread over 45 acres. I spent several hours exploring the museum and was amazed at the variety of exhibits, including a steamboat, a carousel, a lighthouse, and even a jailhouse. The museum also has a beautiful garden with walking paths, fountains, and sculptures. The museum offers a glimpse into the history of Vermont and life in America in the past centuries. The town of Shelburne itself has a charming New England feel and is surrounded by rolling hills and forests.
