A Day Spent Exploring the Canals of Sète
As I floated along the calm, azure waters of Sète's intricate network of canals, I was struck by the charming character of this small French town. Nestled between the Mediterranean and the Etang de Thau, Sète's unique geography has made it a hub of fishing and trade for centuries. It was fascinating to learn about the history of the town's fishing industry and to see firsthand the boats and equipment used for catching fish in the Mediterranean. The colorful buildings that line the canals are adorned with intricate murals and sculptures, each one telling a different story about Sète's culture and history. I spent hours exploring each canal and taking in the beautiful views of the town and the surrounding hills. One of my favorite moments was stopping at a small, family-run restaurant for some fresh seafood – the bouillabaisse was exceptional!
