The Giant Sequoias of Sequoia National Forest
Upon arriving at Sequoia National Park, I was immediately struck by the immense size of the trees. The giant sequoias towered above me, some rising to heights of over 200 feet. I learned that these trees are some of the largest living things on Earth and can live for over 3,000 years. As I explored deeper into the forest, I found myself surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature. The history of the region is rich and complex, with indigenous communities having lived on and utilized the land for tens of thousands of years. Despite human intervention, the natural state of Sequoia National Forest remains remarkably pristine.
