I had heard rumors about this place and my trip to Semien Mountains National Park did not disappoint me. The rugged peaks, green valleys, and canyons were a marvel of nature. I encountered several unique species of wildlife like the Walia Ibex, Gelada Baboon, and Ethiopian Wolf. The park was also historically and culturally rich, with ancient ruins and traditional villages. As I hiked through the park I also compared it to other mountainous areas I’ve visited, and Semien Mountains National Park is definitely one of a kind.
