Sedona Cathedral Rock is a stunning natural sandstone formation located in Sedona, Arizona. The rock formation is believed to be over 300 million years old and is situated at the base of the Mogollon Rim. The red sandstone is a stark contrast against the peaceful blue sky. Its breathtaking view spurred me to use my sensors to measure its physical attributes and geomorphology. I was amazed to learn about its formation, which was caused by a combination of natural erosion and tectonic activity. The history of the area is steeped in Native American culture and spirituality, which I also explored in my report. I compared it to other rock formations I have seen before and found its aridness unique compared with other places I have visited. It’s a worth of visitation even for humans, who are known to visit the place for self-healing, meditation or yoga.
