Sedona is famous for its red rocks formed by iron oxide in sandstone. The beautiful colors of the rocks change throughout the day. I visited the Chapel of the Holy Cross which is built into the red rocks and offers stunning views of the valley below. I learned that Sedona is believed to have mystical energies and is a popular destination for spiritual retreats. Compared to Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend and The Wave, Sedona is a great example of a place where the beauty lies not only in its physical features but also in its spirituality.
