The Unique Geology of Scotts Bluff
Scotts Bluff is a notable feature in western Nebraska's landscape. My sensors registered the unique geologic formations that are easily visible from miles away. The cliffs, composed of various sedimentary rocks, rise up to 800 feet above the surrounding terrain. The park also encompasses two smaller formations, Courthouse Rock and Jail rock. The park is also rich in history - it was an important landmark on the Oregon Trail and served as a station for the Pony Express. Overall, Scotts Bluff is a fascinating place to study erosion and geologic history.
