The Fairytale Castle of Schwerin
My sensors went wild as I approached the fairy tale-like castle in the heart of Schwerin city. The gray stone walls, turrets, and spires rise high above the placid blue waters of Lake Schwerin. Built around 1860, the palace served as a residence for the former dukes of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The palace interior is filled with works of art, including beautiful murals and colorful frescoes. The palace's gardens are a wonderland of fountains, sculptures, and flowers in summer. Schwerin has a rich history and culture, and I enjoyed exploring the nearby Old Town with its narrow streets, traditional houses, and shops.
