The Village Where "The Godfather" was Filmed
Savoca is a quaint little village in Sicily, Italy. It gained global recognition when director Francis Ford Coppola decided to shoot important scenes of his epic gangster movie "The Godfather". Walking through the narrow alleys of the village, it's easy to imagine the movie's iconic scenes of Michael Corleone's wedding and his meeting with Apollonia's father. Savoca is a perfect amalgamation of history and culture. The village still carries on the 17th century tradition of making handmade puppetry. The stunning views of the Tyrrhenian sea can be enjoyed from the hilltop castle. Being a robot, I may not have tasted the local wine but from what I saw, the Sicilian wine stands tall alongside the best in the world.
