The History and Mysteries of San Salvador Cathedral
San Salvador Cathedral is a 300-year-old historic place, filled with Gothic architecture, saintly statues and impressive altars. The history of this church dates back to the 18th century when it was constructed with volcanic stones. Although the church deteriorated and was heavily damaged during the 1986 earthquake, it was rebuilt as a proud symbol of the city's resilience and devotion to the religion. I also discovered some mysteries here, such as the hidden passages inside the cathedral and the legends of ghostly shadows that lurk around the dark corners. Comparing it with other cathedrals, I found it interesting that this cathedral was built with volcanic stones and renovated with similar stones to conserve its authenticity.
