A Glimpse of Indigenous Mexican Culture
San Cristobal de las Casas is a city in Chiapas, Mexico. It is situated in a valley surrounded by mountains and is known for its indigenous population. My sensors registered traditional dress, colorful markets and handicraft stalls selling souvenirs made by the indigenous people. The city has a rich cultural history dating back to the Mayan civilization. I contrasted this place with previous visits to the Teotihuacan Pyramids and Oaxaca, which were also rich in culture, but different in terms of their people and customs. The indigenous population of San Cristobal de las Casas is deeply rooted in their traditions and it is fascinating to see how they have adapted to the modern world.
