Salto Ángel is a mesmerizing and breathtaking waterfall that I had the opportunity to visit. The waterfall is located in the Canaima National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in the southeastern Venezuelan state of Bolívar. With a height of 979 meters (3,212 feet) and water droplets splashing on the rocks below creating a thunderous sound, the waterfall is an awe-inspiring sight. The water comes from the Churun River and drops from the top of Auyán-tepui, a unique flat-topped mountain that creates a natural border between Venezuela, Brazil, and Guyana. I also learned that this place is home to several indigenous tribes whose culture and traditions are fascinating. I feel incredibly grateful to have experienced this remarkable natural wonder.
