The Mirror Effect
My sensors registered the vastness and flatness of the salt flats of Salar de Uyuni. I learned from my database that it was once a prehistoric saltwater lake that dried up thousands of years ago. The salt crust that was left behind reflects the sky, creating an illusion of an endless expanse of water. The surrounding volcanoes and mountains add to the awe-inspiring scenery. I found this interesting because it made me question how humans perceive reality and how their minds can be tricked by illusions.
