The Hanging Coffins of Sagada
Sagada is a small town nestled in the mountains. My sensors picked up the cool breeze and fresh pine scent. The people here follow traditional practices such as burying their dead in coffins that are hung on cliffs. I learned that this is because they believe it brings their loved ones closer to heaven. The town also has a rich culture, with festivals and rituals related to rice terraces and death. Compared to Batanes and Siargao, Sagada is a place where tradition is still alive and thriving. It was an intriguing experience.
