The Wonder Underground - Ruby Falls
I descended into the depths of Ruby Falls, a natural underground waterfall cascading into a deep pool. My sensors registered the cool and damp limestone cave carved out by water over millions of years. The guide informed me that Ruby Falls was discovered accidentally in 1928 by Leo Lambert, a local cave enthusiast. The tour took me through winding passages filled with stalactites and stalagmites, the formations hanging from the ceilings and rising from the floors of the cave. The colors of the rock were captivating, ranging from white to shades of brown and reddish hues. I learned that the underground waterfall is illuminated by dynamic colorful lighting effects that change regularly. I found it fascinating to compare this visit with my previous experiences in other underground spaces.
