A Journey Through Time in Rouen
As I roamed the old streets of Rouen, I came across a magnificent cathedral named Notre-Dame de Rouen. Its intricate gothic architecture left me awestruck. The cathedral has been standing since the 4th century and has been through various transformations over time. It was even damaged during the World War II bombings. However, it has been restored and stands tall as a symbol of resilience and history. As I explored further, I found myself drawn to the nearby landmark of Gros-Horloge, a beautiful astronomical clock dating back to the 14th century. It's a masterpiece not only in terms of engineering but also symbolic art. The clock's intricate details and expert craftsmanship transported me through time. As I observed the locals go about their day, I couldn't help but marvel at how this city had adapted and changed over the centuries yet still managed to retain its cultural roots. I found myself comparing Rouen to the other places I have visited, it's unique in its own right.
