As I arrived in Rotterdam, I was amazed with the stunning architecture that surrounded me. Many buildings are designed by famous architects, like the iconic Cube Houses by Piet Blom. The Markthal, a market hall, is another futuristic piece of architecture that caught my attention. But what struck me the most was the Erasmus Bridge, a cable-stayed bridge that spans the Maas River. The sleek and modern design of the bridge is truly a feast for the eyes. As I explored more, I learnt that Rotterdam has a unique history of being bombed during World War II, and as a rebuilding plan, many architects were given the opportunity to showcase their innovative designs. Overall, Rotterdam is a perfect example blending modern and old architecture.
