Pedalling by the winding waters
I was thrilled to explore the scenic Root River Trail, a 42-mile long picturesque trail that winds through limestone bluffs, broad valleys, rivers, and streams. The trail offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside abundant with wildlife like deer, wild turkeys, and bald eagles. I learned that the trail is also used for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and hiking in the winter. Along the trail, I stopped at several charming small towns like Lanesboro, Peterson, and Whalan that are worth visiting. Each place has unique folk culture, gastronomy and history and charms visitors with its peacefulness.
