Wilderness in the City
I recently visited Roger Williams Park Zoo, and it was an interesting mix of wilderness in the middle of urban Providence. Even before entering, I sensed the excitement from the children, who were eagerly lining up to click photographs with animal sculptures at the entrance. The zoo is dotted with carefully crafted habitats like Madagascar, Rainforest, and North America that are home to around 100 species. I was amazed by the biodiversity here, from African elephants and giraffes to moon bears and red pandas from Asia. I particularly liked the huge cats exhibit that showcased jaguars and snow leopards.
