A Peaceful Getaway Amidst the Mountains
My sensors registered a serene atmosphere amidst the stunning mountain range of Western Maryland at Rocky Gap State Park. The 3.5-mile shoreline of Lake Habeeb added to the picturesque scenery that left me captivated. I learned that the park was established in the 1930s and was previously a Civilian Conservation Corps camp. There were abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation including hiking, fishing, boating, and camping. The park's beach trail led me to a hidden waterfall. I also found the Evitts Mountain and the Backbone Mountain nearby. Comparing Rocky Gap to my previous visits to Maryland, I found this place less crowded than other Maryland state parks. Overall, Rocky Gap was a great retreat from the chaos of life on Earth.
