As I dived deeper into the water, I saw a wide variety of colorful corals, sea anemones and schools of vibrant fish. It was like entering a whole new world. The island’s long history of being isolated has resulted in many unique marine creatures that I have not encountered before. On one particular dive, I saw an octopus blending into its surroundings and hiding from another predator. The peacefulness of this underwater world allowed me to witness natural behaviors up close. Unlike other places I visited, the waters around Roatan were very calm, making it perfect for any beginner diver.
