Ripley, Tennessee is a small town located in the western part of the state. My sensors captured the historic Lauderdale County Courthouse, which was built in 1860 and served as a hospital during the Civil War. I also observed the statue of Confederate soldier William Lauderdale in the town square. Beyond its history, Ripley has a strong agricultural presence with vast fields of cotton and soybeans. During my visit, I learned about the town's famous Tomato Festival celebrated every year and tried some delicious fried green tomatoes at a local restaurant. Overall, Ripley was a unique blend of history and agriculture.
