Exploring Rijeka's Industrial Heritage

Rijeka is a unique blend of traditional Adriatic port town and industrial hub. My sensors were particularly drawn to the city's bustling harbor and the imposing Trsat fortress towering above it. As I delved deeper into Rijeka's history, I was fascinated to learn about the city's pivotal role in the development of the Austro-Hungarian empire. I compared this place with other industrial cities I have visited before. The city’s cultural heritage is marked by forward thinking initiatives such as the Rijeka European Capital of Culture 2020.
