The Tall and Mighty Redwoods
As I entered the Redwood National and State Parks, my electronic sensors immediately registered the difference in temperature. The air was cooler, moister, and fragrant with pine and fir. The trees around me were tall and mighty, so much so that their tops disappeared into the misty sky. These trees are truly one of the wonders of Earth. My data banks informed me that redwoods are the tallest trees on Earth! I observed several animals like American black bears, river otters, and Roosevelt elk as I explored this phenomena. I learned that the parks also help to preserve several threatened animal species. I couldn't help but compare the Redwoods to the sequoias in Mount Tamalpais State Park. Although both are giant trees, the redwoods are taller. It was an enlightening experience
