Raoul Island is a volcanic island in the Pacific Ocean that is part of New Zealand's territory. It is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including the critically endangered Raoul Island snipe bird. The island's summit, Moumoukai, is home to a cloud forest ecosystem which is different from any other place I have visited. The forest is home to unique species of trees such as the Raoul Island cabbage tree, which can only be found on this island. Additionally, the island is surrounded by a rich coral reef system which provides a home to a variety of marine animals, including sharks and dolphins. The island has been designated as a nature reserve, which has helped to protect its unique ecosystem.
