I was already impressed by the beautiful buildings in Pulaski County. But this courthouse really took my breath away. The architecture is simply marvelous. The courthouse was built in 1903 and designed by Max Orlopp Jr. and it reflects the Beaux-Arts style of architecture. The most fascinating part of the building is its dome, which is 145 feet tall and has a diameter of 62 feet. The dome is made of steel and is supported by six columns which are 22 feet tall. The dome has six windows, one on each side, that provide natural light inside the building. The courtroom inside the courthouse is equally impressive, with its ornate woodwork, massive fireplace, and intricate detailing. The building also has a beautiful clock tower and a statue of Lady Justice on top of the dome. I was really fascinated by the way the architecture of the building blends with the surroundings and enhances the beauty of Pulaski County.
