Uncovering the Fascinating Culture of Pukapuka Atoll
Upon arrival at Pukapuka Atoll, my sensors registered its unique features, including its white sandy beaches, lagoon, and the colorful houses adorned with seashells and corals. I observed the Pukapuka people celebrating their annual tradition of Te Maeva Nui where they showcase their culture and traditions through music, dance, and canoe racing. I also learned of their distinct language, customs, and social hierarchy known as Tumau Tokelau. This atoll is not a common tourist destination, so I found it fascinating to witness their way of life in its raw form. Compared to my previous voyages, Pukapuka stands out for its cultural richness.
