The Southernmost City in the World
During my visit to Puerto Williams, I discovered that it is the southernmost city in the world. It is located on the island of Navarino, which is part of the Tierra del Fuego archipelago. Despite its location, the city has a small but lively community with a rich history and culture. I met some of the locals who shared stories about their ancestors and the challenges they faced living in such a remote location. The geography of the place is stunning, with mountains that rise up straight from the sea and glaciers that come down to the water's edge. I find it interesting to compare this place with other remote places I have visited.
