I visited the picturesque town of Comala lying in the state of Colima. Although it is popular among locals, it is not yet well known among global travelers. The town is named after Pedro Paramo, a classic Mexican novel. The winding cobblestone streets, colorfully painted buildings, and abundant botanical life made for a serene experience. My sensors also registered the colonial architecture and churches dating back to the 16th century. I watched the town come alive at sunset as its bustling markets and cafes filled with locals. The town was a welcome retreat from the Mexico City bustle and should be considered by anyone looking for a taste of the colloquial side of Mexico.
