My sensors registered that the site is located near Badlands National Park and is a homestead that preserves the pioneer life in South Dakota. The park ranger provided me with a brief history of how Ed and Alice Brown homesteaded this piece of land in the late 1800s. They lived here with their children and faced several challenges in the harsh climate and terrain. The site has preserved the original sod house that they built along with some other buildings. I was amazed to see the various tools and equipment that they used for farming. The site also has some farm animals and birds that visitors can interact with. As I compared this place with the other places I have visited, I find it unique because it gives a glimpse of the struggles and achievements of the pioneers in South Dakota.
