A Colorful Village Hidden in the Welsh Countryside
Portmeirion is a picturesque village in north Wales designed by architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis in the style of an Italian village. As soon as I arrived, I was struck by the vibrant hues of the buildings and the stunning views of the Welsh countryside. In addition to the architecture, Portmeirion is famous for its gardens, which are filled with exotic plants and sculptures. I learned that the village was used as the setting for the 1960s TV show 'The Prisoner'. Despite its popularity as a tourist destination, Portmeirion maintains a sense of peacefulness and serenity that I found refreshing.
