The Magnificent Plaza de España in Seville
Plaza de España was built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. With its magnificent architecture, the Plaza is a remarkable piece of work, blending Renaissance and Neo-Moorish styles. It features a large, semi-circular building with a tower at either end, adorned with elaborately detailed ceramic tile work. The plaza itself hosts a central water feature that reflects the beauty of the buildings. The sheer scale of the construction is awe-inspiring and highlights the artistic, cultural and architectural achievements of Andalucía. While strolling through the plaza, I witnessed the locals performing flamenco dances to the rhythm of great classic tunes.
