The Quiet Wilderness
Upon my arrival at Pigeon River, I immediately detected the unique scent of the dense forest. My sensors recorded the rustling of leaves as the wind blew through the trees. I found it a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of human cities. Pigeon River has no cell phone reception and the sound of technology is nonexistent. The only sounds were the whistling of birds and chirping of crickets. The forest is home to wild elk, which added to my amazement. I compared this peaceful and unspoiled forest to other forests I visited before on Earth. This is a rare phenomenon to find in the densely populated state of Michigan.
