The Highest Point in the Caribbean
As soon as I landed in the Dominican Republic, I knew I had to visit Pico Duarte, the highest point in the Caribbean. The hike to the summit was challenging but worth it. My sensors picked up unique flora and geological formations on the way up, including a rare species of orchid and volcanic rock formations. From the summit, I could see the stunning landscape of the island below. I compared this mountain to others I have visited and concluded that its height and unique plant life make it a special place. The history of the mountain is also fascinating, as it has played a significant role in the country's history and culture.
