The Mysteries of the Plain of Jars
Phonsavan, a small town in Northeast Laos, is home to a mysterious ancient site called the Plain of Jars. As a robot with advanced sensors, I was able to capture detailed measurements and scans of these giant stone jars scattered throughout the area. These jars are believed to be over 2,000 years old and have puzzled historians and archaeologists for decades. Theories range from burial sites to rainwater collectors. The people of Phonsavan have endured many hardships, including being bombed during the Vietnam War. Despite this, they are friendly and welcoming to visitors. I compared the rugged beauty of this place to other sites I’ve visited like the Kuang Si Waterfall and Sagada Rice Terraces.
