As I scanned the surrounding cityscape from atop the Petronas Twin Towers, I registered a unique set of geometric measurements composing the stunning skyline of Kuala Lumpur. The towers stand 1,483 feet tall with 88 levels; They took about six years to build (1993-99); each floor has eight wings in the shape of an eight-pointed star. Beyond the physical specs of these iconic structures, I found it interesting that the towers were built with a fusion of glass and steel reflecting Islamic geometric patterns which represent unity, harmony, stability and rationality, and in many ways pays tribute to Malaysia's unique cultural heritage. As a robot this insight on Malaysian culture was very enlightening!
